Leah

Founder & Principal Designer

Leah founded Gray Oak Studio in 2017 and brings an imaginative, thoughtful approach to every project. Before launching the studio, she built a career rooted in visual storytelling and structure, winning a photography award from The Boston Globe, writing a successful blog before blogging was a thing, and renovating and designing every home she lived in, from a Brooklyn brownstone to a 1950s ranch in the Boston suburbs. She also earned her law degree and practiced as a criminal defense attorney for nearly a decade before pivoting fully into interior design.

Leah is passionate about helping clients discover their personal style, working with natural and sustainable materials whenever possible, and uncovering those rare “unicorn” pieces that elevate a space and bring lasting joy. At the heart of her work is a belief that design should make life easier and happier. Creating beautiful spaces matters, but creating homes people truly adore matters even more. Outside of the studio, Leah is a mom of three children, one dog and eight chickens. She loves a great book and a beautiful mug of coffee.
